Special Election Called

On August 10, the City of Coppell will call a Special Election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, to fill the vacancy for the office of Mayor.
Citizens interested in running for Mayor in the November Special Election must file an application between 8:00 am, Sunday, July 25, and 5:00 pm, Monday, August 30, 2010. Candidate packets are available for pick up in the City Secretary's office at Town Center, 255 Parkway Blvd., Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Qualifications for candidates filing for an elected office include:
- Must be a qualified voter,
- Candidate must be a resident of Coppell for at least 12 months preceding the date of the election, and
- Candidate may not be in arrears in the payment of any taxes or other liabilities due the City.
