
Mary B Cakes Wins 2011 Golden Fork Award

The Coppell Chamber of Commerce recently hosted the 2nd Annual Taste of Coppell presented by Frost Bank. The “Bite-Sized Showcase” was held at Riverchase Golf Club on October 1, 2011. Guests enjoyed unlimited tastes, live music and entertainment for a single entry fee.
“The Chamber is excited to bring this event back to Coppell for a second year in a row,” said Tony Moline, Coppell Chamber President/CEO. “We are here to support our local businesses. One of the many great things Coppell has to offer is our unique dining experience, and we are proud to showcase some of the best food in Coppell.”
This year included new activities such as a celebrity judges’ panel and other contests. The judges were WFAA Meteorologist/Anchor Colleen Coyle and Coppell City Council members Karen Hunt, Bob Mahalik and Marvin Franklin. The audience also voted on their favorite items.
Mary B Cakes was named crowd favorite and winner of the 2011 Golden Fork Award. Healthy Me Art Café was chosen for Best Appetizer, Ole’s Tex-Mex was awarded Best Entrée and Biggby Coffee won Best Dessert. J. Macklin’s Grill was recognized for Best Presentation.
“We appreciate everyone’s support. The vendors, sponsors and all our volunteers work together to make Taste of Coppell a memorable experience for our guests,” said Moline. “We look forward to having everybody back next year to celebrate our community and the wonderful food we have to offer here in Coppell.”
Participating vendors included 7 Salsas, Biggby Coffee, Frida's Mexican Grill, Guero’s Mexican Grill, Hard Eight BBQ, Healthy Me Art Café, J. Macklin's Grill, Kasa Kolache Bakery & Café, Mary B Cakes, Ole's Tex-Mex, Panera Bread, Sam's Club and Schlotzsky's/Cinnabon.
Frost Bank was the 2011 Presenting Sponsor for Taste of Coppell.
