Oct 03, 2011 - Coppell, Texas

The Coppell Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 18th Annual Chamber Golf Classic Golf at Riverchase Golf Club in Coppell. Over 100 golfers and sponsors attended the tournament on September 30.  Riverchase recently underwent extensive renovations to its clubhouse and course.

The team from Reunion Title/Irwin Law won the Chamber Cup for the second year in a row. The winning team included Barry Irwin, Mike Keeling, Greg Ferguson and Roger Thedford. Previous winners include teams from the City of Coppell, Wal-Mart, Goddard Orthopedic & Sports Therapy and City Garage.

Tournament chairman Greg Garcia said, “What sets the Coppell Chamber Golf Classic apart from other tournaments is that it truly benefits the entire community. In the 18-year history of this tournament, we’ve raised over $100,000. This allows the Coppell Chamber, among other things, to award educational scholarships to many Coppell students and provide support to the local economy.”

“This has been a great event to see come to fruition,” said Tony Moline, Chamber President/CEO.  “You really get to see a different group come to this event to add their support to The Chamber’s programs of work.”

Garcia added, “With the continued support of the City of Coppell and local businesses, this event will always be a success.”

Sponsors for the 2011 tournament included Allegiance Title Company, American Airlines, BPI, Charity Golf International, Coppell Restoration, The Diamond Jewelry Company, Grow It Land Design & Garden Center, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hard Eight BBQ, Kasa Kolache, Lions Club of Coppell, Marriott ExecuStay, MSigns, Oncor Electric Delivery Company, Pow Inc.
